FLAT OUT SPEED wins the IOWA BREEDERS’ OAKS

Flat Out Speed upped her perfect record at Prairie Meadows
to eight-for-eight while getting the job done as the
overwhelming favorite. Victorious in both the open Prairie Gold
Lassie S. and Iowa Sorority S. on this card 12 moths ago, the dark
bay=s lone defeat came when she was sixth in an Oaklawn
allowance in April. She bounced back when besting two foes
including Beer Can in the local Bob Bryant S. June 27, but
handled much deeper waters with aplomb while stretching out
effectively in the July 5 GIII Iowa Oaks. She padded her bankroll
with an Aug. 2 optional claimer, and was last seen holding on
narrowly in the Hawkeyes H. over her elders here Aug. 27.
Always clear and in hand, Flat Out Speed cantered her way
home while receiving pats on the neck from rider Alex Canchari.

The winner has an unraced 2-year-old half-brother named
Shotgun Shy (Dominus) and a foal half-sister by Not This Time.
Her dam visited Good Samaritan for 2021.
